West Edmonton Mall

We went to the West Edmonton Mall (WEM), located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on August 25th. I would like to share my memories about our outing. First of all let us share some information which I read in the inter net about the Mall. It is the largest shopping mall in North America and the fifth largest in the world, founded by Ghermezian brothers who immigrated from Iran in 1959.It was the world's largest mall for a 23 year period from 1981 until 2004.West Edmonton Mall covers a gross area of about 570,000 m² (well over 6 million ft²) and cost C$1.2 billion to build. There are over 800 stores and services and parking for more than 20,000 vehicles. More than 23,000 people are employed at the property. The mall receives 28.2 million visitors per year and between 60,000 and 150,000 shoppers daily depending on the day and season. The mall is currently valued at C$926 million.

The most interresting thing for me in the mall was the Sealion show at the Sealion's Rock. The activities that excibited by the two sea lions were amazing. We all enjoied it a lot, Enjoy the photoes we took at that show. The training that had been provided to thoes animals was excellent. Mostly Kids liked this and they took photoes with the Sealions.

The next interesting thing was, my son (Virun) and my husband (Rushan) went to train Ice Skating at the first time in their life. I was so hard to imaging how they were learnt it within few hours without any proper instructions by a qualified instructor. Ultimatly Ice Skating became the favourit Deep Sea Derbysport of my son.
